The course is composed by two forms. The lessons of the first form are taught by prof. Fulvio Conti, those of the second by prof. Sandro Rogari. In the first form the social and political history of Italy will be analyzed since 1861 up to the Fascism.
In the second form, after having described the epilogue of the Fascism and the birth of the Republic, the political history of Italy will be reconstructed up to the beginning of the XXI century.

Learning Objectives
The course intends to offer a detailed knowledge of the history of contemporary Italy in the period between the birth of the national State (1861) and our days. Particularly, it will try to give the tools to the students for an deepened understanding of the political and institutional history of Italy since the unification up today.

The final tests will be written and they will consist in questions to open answer.

A specific attention will be devoted to the process of construction of the national identity and to the analysis of the political system.
In the second form, after having described the epilogue of the Fascism and the birth of the Republic, the political history of Italy will be reconstructed up to the beginning of the XXI century. Finally, the course intends to offer to the students the tools for a deepened understanding of the political and institutional history of Italy.
