The relations between political thought and social problems are the main subject of the course. Its first part describes the system of representation of ideal societies typical of utopian literature, from Thomas More to utopian socialism of the nineteenth century. The theme of social reform, particularly in the direction of the development of Welfare State’s theories, concludes the course.
