The course aims to provide the conceptual and methodological tools for analysis and interpretation of the sociological phenomena that characterize contemporary societies.

Module I: Introduction to sociology and its definition in relation to other social sciences. The main paradigms for the interpretation of modern and contemporary societies. Communication, socialization, conflict.
Module II: Social Inequality and the problem of identity. The institutions and social phenomena in economic activity and employment, education.
Module III: Politics, globalization and social movements. The relationship between local and global, in relation to religious issues, the role of cities. Power and social citizenship, the information society. Closes the application form a part where you re-read with the cognitive tools of sociology some contemporary cases
